RADA’s MA Theatre Labis an intensive year’s postgraduate training in performance, framed by the context of Laboratory Theatre practice and experimental theatre making. Students come to RADA from across the globe with existing professional experience, looking to extend their performing and devising skills to an advanced level. In a critically aware and collaborative learning environment, they develop the capacity to create innovative theatre and performance, bringing international practice from around the world into one unique course.
The Coronet Theatreis a risk-taking, international arts theatre in a restored and re-imagined Grade II listed building in London’s Notting Hill. The Coronet Theatre presents an eclectic programme of theatre, film, dance, music, poetry and visual art in its intimate 195-seat main auditorium and 90-seat studio space, re-named The Print Room in recognition of the company’s previous home at a nearby print works, and stunning bar.
The programme is created by Artistic Director Anda Winters in close collaboration with artists to present a fusion of multi-disciplinary international and UK work. The Coronet Theatre stages a mix of new productions, commissions and visiting artists, including a number of UK and world premieres, offering memorable, and often unexpected, experiences to audiences, while supporting established artists and nurturing new talent.
Cast and Creatives
Sharan Atwal (she/her)
Sharan is an Essex based actor / writer / director. She has worked in the industry for over 15 years, her acting experience lies within theatre/ tv / immersive theatre and she works regularly on R&D projects. Sharan’s writing credits include projects with Kali Theatre, Tamasha, Essex Visual Arts, Mercury Theatre with Marlow Theatre & Kahani Arts. Sharan’s directing experience lies mainly within new writing, she has been directing scratch nights and rehearsed readings since 2020 and also works with a number of Youth Theatres. In 2023, Sharan completed her Masters at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she is delighted and proud to be working on The Jellyfish Enigma with some of her fellow ensemble members from RADA.
Ellie Iley (she/her)
Ellie is a London-based actor, deviser and director. With a range of credits in stage, musical theatre, educational, and voiceover – including Oxford Playhouse, Lyric Hammersmith, North Wall Arts Centre. As Associate Creative with Maybe You Like It, Ellie has developed Pleading Stupidity (The Pleasance, 2023) since 2020 and will return to the cast in the play’s Autumn 2024 tour. Directing includes Carrie the Musical (Oxford Playhouse) and Like a Plant for XPOSED (Southwark Playhouse). Ellie’s debut play as a solo writer, ‘Down to Chance’ tells the unbelievable true story of the 1964 Great Alaskan Earthquake will premiere at Bloomsbury Festival in October, with development supported by Park Theatre. As a producer, Ellie is Assistant Director of Bloomsbury Festival, leading on the Theatre, Performance and Emerging Artists’ Programmes, and on Community Participation.
Tiffany Elana King (She/Her)
Tiffany King trained at RADA. She was excited to perform recently in the London premiere of ‘The last time I saw Cailieigh’ which was created by fellow RADA graduates. She is also developing her own play, ‘Tethered’ which will be performed at Bloomsbury Festival 2024.
Prior to training as an actor, Tiffany worked as a writer and theatre director and choreographer, including being at the helm of several musicals and plays such as ‘Respect’, which enjoyed performances at Hammersmith Apollo as well as a UK Tour. She has also worked extensively with young people as a director for National Youth Theatre, British Youth Music Theatre and Theatretrain. Tiffany is passionate about telling stories about people whose life experiences may have been ‘othered’ or silenced.
Valeriia Poholsha (she/her)
Valeriia Poholsha, a Ukrainian theatre practitioner based in London, UK, is a recent graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Since 2018, she has been working internationally as an actress in various classical and experimental projects, as well as a deviser and workshop facilitator. Valeriia’s work is deeply influenced by the Grotowski school of practice, with a focus on inner self-reflection and the exploration of fundamental human questions which are rooted in each individual.
Marilou Tamvaki (she/her)
Marilou is a Greek actor, writer, producer and theatre maker based in London. She trained in Arhi Drama School and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). Her acting/performance credits include Bolette (The Lady from the Sea), Ann (The Anarchist), Electra (Electra), Andromache (The Trojan Women) and Clown (Dress Up). She translated and produced the plays The Anarchist and Steel Magnolias. Marilou is currently developing “The Jellyfish Enigma” with her colleagues from RADA.
Matéo Troianovski (he/him)
Matéo is a French actor and writer. In 2020, he wrote his first play, “Before the Storm”. After few years as actor in Paris he joined the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London to pursue a master’s degree in drama. At the end of 2023, Matéo Troianovski returned to France with the ambition of developing his artistic creations while continuing his commitment to the environmental cause.
Francis Thurstun-Crees (he/him)
Francis is a British actor and creator based in London. He trained in East15 and RADA and is an advanced stage combat combatant through the BADC. Francis appears in “Those About To Die” on Amazon.
