Considering Ellen is a damage dealer (DPS) through and through, her main focus is to just upgrade skills that will increase her damage to the roof. Ellen's damage will mostly come from her Basic Attacks and Special Attacks, so always upgrade those first. Chain Attacks are optional, but is a good thing to upgrade if you have extra materials. Lastly, upgrade her Core Skill whenever you are able.
