How long is a semester at BSU? ›

The regular academic year consists of two semesters (fall and spring) of approximately 15 weeks each.

You can change/declare your major, or add one, by contacting your academic advisor. You will need to schedule an appointment to meet with your advisor to discuss the requirements for the new major and the impact on your current academic plan and anticipated graduation date.

For the bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, and bachelor of music degrees, some majors require more than 120 credits, and may require more than four years to complete. See individual departments for descriptions for specific majors.

Summer semesters are usually shorter than regular semesters at about 10-12 weeks. Because of this, summer classes often meet more times per week to ensure the same amount of instruction time as a fall or spring course.
