How many hours do you need to see Bryce Canyon? ›

We recommend spending at least one full day exploring Bryce Canyon National Park. This includes taking hikes and partaking in some of the unique activities such as night sky photography tours and horseback rides.

Summer is the most popular time to visit Bryce, but spring and fall will have fewer people, and winter offers the chance of snowfall and winter activities.

We wouldn't really recommend spending more than two days in Bryce Canyon, but you could easily be in Zion for a week. Zion is also more developed than any of the other parks in Utah. It gets the most funding, and has the most infrastructure, and is the most accessible.

If time constraints leave you with having only one day to explore Bryce Canyon, stick to the northern area of the Park, specifically Bryce Amphitheater. Depending on your fitness level and interests, you can use the free shuttle, your own vehicle to see the sights, or step on trail and go for hike.

The main park road is 18 miles (29 km) from the park entrance in the north to the end of the road at Rainbow at Yovimpa Points. While the Bryce Amphitheater area is found along its first 3 miles (4.8 km), the next 15 miles (24 km) to the road's end are known as the Southern Scenic Drive.

The Logistics of Visiting Both Parks in One Day
